What it is

PinnChrome Silver is a neutral silver reflective coating, giving a cooler, neutral appearance. We process purchased coated glass and do not coat in house. A coating side is agreed, edges are prepared to suit the coating, and further processing follows where the coating allows.

How it differs from other PinnChrome options

Silver is the most neutral PinnChrome finish. Ocean Blue and Evergreen add colour, Bronze Gold adds warmth and Rainbow is iridescent. Silver is often chosen where the facade should reflect its surroundings without a strong tint.

Where it is used

Typical uses include office and commercial facades, curtain walls, shopfronts and spandrels.

Working within the PinnChrome range

PinnChrome products are purchased coated glasses that we process at our plant; we do not coat glass in house. For each project a coated glass and coating side are agreed, edges are prepared to suit the coating, and toughening, lamination or IGU assembly follows where the selected coating allows it. Panes are then inspected under suitable light. Whether a particular coating can be edged, toughened or laminated depends on the product, so we confirm before production. Reflective appearance and privacy depend on the balance of lighting inside and outside the building, and both change between day and night, so approve colour with a sample.

2. 2. Cut and edge. Edges are prepared to suit the coating.
3. 3. Process. Toughening, lamination or IGU assembly follows.
4. 4. Inspect. Panes are checked under suitable light.
