PinnSoak Heat-soaked toughened glass
Heat-soaked toughened glass
PinnSoak is toughened glass that has also been heat soaked, a screening step that lowers the risk of spontaneous breakage from nickel-sulphide inclusions.

Why choose it
- Lower risk of nickel-sulphide-related breakage
- Suited to higher, harder-to-reach glazing
- Same cutting and edging options as PinnTuff
Typical uses
- High-rise facades
- Overhead glazing
- Frameless glass
- Public buildings
- Structural glazing
How it is processed
Step 1
Temper
Glass is cut, edged and tempered first.
Step 2
Load
Toughened panes are loaded into the heat soak chamber.
Step 3
Soak
Panes are held in the chamber to screen for inclusions.
Step 4
Unload
Panes that survive are inspected and released.
Heat soaking reduces the risk of breakage. It does not eliminate it.
